Vol.1: WHO AM I?

Posted by Mai Daimonji on

Hi! This is Mai, I’m the designer/founder of i.a.m Jewelry & Creations. Thank you for visiting my page!

It’s been 5 years since I started my hobby as a business and now I’m starting a new thing - blogging! This is something that I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, where I can show more of my “raw” side and connect a bit deeper with you.

Back in 2015, I made my very first jewelry for myself. I worked at Starbucks in Seattle at that time and wore my jewelry everyday. “Your earrings are so cute! Where did you get it?” This simple question made me feel like I’m the happiest girl (not exaggerating, I literally felt this way!LOL) but I wasn’t having only a happy time. I suffered a bad breakup, financial hardships, depression and low self-esteem. I started questioning my purpose and my self-identity. Who am I? Why am I here? What do I really want to do with my life?

In the mid 2016, after hitting rock bottom in life, my hobby became a lifetime passion. Creating jewelry was the only thing I had. I started realizing that it allowed me to live my authentic life. It allowed me to discover my self-worth and who I am. It allowed me to express my inner voice from the heart. The “i.a.m” in i.a.m Jewelry & Creations is Mai spelled backwards.

I believe that jewelry empowers the journey to self-expression. It can allow you to embrace who you really are as an individual. It can brighten your day with a spark of joy by discovering a new style that will never leave you feeling lost in a crowd.
My jewelry is meant to compliment your individual style. Each design is unique yet simple, classic yet chic. My inspiration stems from the bustling city life from my hometown of Osaka, Japan, and the quiet elegant beauty of my current home on Oahu, Hawai’i. I am inspired to create pieces that you can wear daily for any style on all occasions.

The purpose of my brand is you - to embrace who you are, to empower your originality with confidence like how I found myself. I want to share with you my journey of self-expression through my jewelry. I can’t wait to show you more of who I am!

XOXO,

Mai
